SULZBACHER CENTER FOR THE HOMELESS
Using data as of: June 2016
Rating: HIGHLY RECOMMEND
About
The Sulzbacher Center is Northeast Florida’s largest provider of services for the homeless. Not only do they provide lodging 24/7/365, but also provide three meals a day, health services both downtown and at the Beaches, and even a children’s building with programs for tutoring, arts and crafts, and music. Every client at Sulzbacher is given a case manager that helps with a transition back into the community with job placement assistance and life skills programs.
With more homeless in the area than Sulzbacher can accommodate, under construction now is a new “Sulzbacher Village” that will provide 70 permanent housing units for homeless women and children, as well as 54 units for emergency housing and medical respite. Construction is expected to be complete in April 2018.
