About
The Mental Health Resource Center provides a range of behavioral health services for adults, adolescents, children, and families. Services include emergency evaluations and crisis stabilization, case management, social rehabilitation, medication management and other outpatient services. They operate two main facilities, several treatment centers around the state, and two apartment complexes that provide permanent, independent living arrangements for those with psychiatric disabilities.
A government grant allowed them to expand their North Jacksonville location to create a “Comprehensive Service Center” to serve as an urgent care facility for those with mental health and substance abuse issues. The South location is also being expanded to add more treatment beds and staff. The grant requires matching contributions from the community and they will need more funding to increase staff and expand service hours.
Donations to MHRC go to helping cover the costs for those who cannot afford service and to expanding their facilities and staff.

Our Conclusion
Mental Health Resource Center operates in a tough industry. We note that many negative reviews can be found online. They emphasize they are for “crisis stabilization” and cannot remedy serious problems requiring longer-term solutions that many expect. Recent and planned expansions will help in this respect. They provide a needed service and we give them a
RECOMMEND rating.
