About
First Coast No More Homeless Pets operates the largest spay/neuter clinic in the country. They are not a shelter – they offer low cost veterinary care to people who may not be able to afford traditional veterinary services. By offering low cost services, this keeps pets from ending up in shelters with the possibility of being killed. Formed in 2001, they complete more than 20,000 surgeries a year.

Their programs include low and no-cost spay/neuter, adoption programs, a pet food bank that provides low cost food to those who may not be able to afford it, and feral animal sterilization.

Our Analysis

First Coast No More Homeless Pets had $6.664 million in revenue according to their latest report, resulting in a slight surplus from their $6.660 million in expenses.

Of that $6.66 million in revenue, the vast majority came from their operations, which added $4.9 million. $1.2 million came from outside contributions and $145 thousand was raised from events.

The Homeless Pets does fairly well spending on their mission, with 88% of spending going to their mission. We like to see a charity spend at least 75% on their mission, so 88% is decent. They also have modest fundraising expenses.

Spending on mission
5,856,577 ÷ 6,659,953 = 87.9%

Spending on administrative costs
532,124 ÷ 6,659,953 = 8.0%
