About
Everyone knows Goodwill. They take your donations of used clothing and household items and resell them at their stores. But most people don’t know the money they raise goes to helping people with disabilities and special needs get job training and find employment.

The Goodwill organization is the largest in the country in providing training and employment services for people with disabilities and special needs. Goodwill of North Florida is one of the top performers in placing people into employment, ranking third in the country.

Our Analysis

Goodwill of North Florida brought in $30.6 million in revenue as of their last report, coming from three different sources: contributions, revenue from programs, and revenue from their resale stores.

Just over $1 million in revenue came from external contributions. $4.6 million came from their programs, which includes landscaping, laundry, and paver services, plus a Christmas decorations service. Goodwill stores brought in the bulk of the revenue at $24.8 million.

They were fairly efficient in their spending, with just over 90% of spending going to their mission. We like to see a charity spend at least 75% on their mission, so their 90% is respectable. They also have no fundraising expenses.

Spending on mission
26,695,308 ÷ 29,575,181 = 90.3%

Our Conclusion
Goodwill is a great organization that provides a needed service. Whether it is a monetary contribution or donation of a used item, we give them a HIGHLY RECOMMEND rating.
