Expenses and Philanthropic Spending
Dreams Come True appears fairly efficient with their spending if you just look at their financial documents. They show about 77% of their spending went to their mission, but this is misleading because they use sponsors (like corporate giving) to cover their administrative expenses. They note that 100% of every donation goes to granting the dream of a child.Program Spending | |

Our Conclusion
Dreams Come True of Jacksonville does a great job serving their mission. One concern we have is their very large board of directors, currently numbering 38. Ideally, boards are smaller in size because it makes it easier to reach consensus and avoid information overload and paralysis. There are few benefits in having a board this large – except to provide a convenient source of fundraising.
Despite this, we give them a HIGHLY RECOMMEND rating.
