About
Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry – commonly referred to as “BEAM” – serves low income residents in the Beaches area who are facing hard times. They provide emergency assistance to cover overdue expenses like rent and utility payments. They also operate a food pantry to help those having difficulties covering food expenses. They offer longer-term help through counseling on both financial matters and diet and wellness.
BEAM was founded in 1985 by local churches as a way to assist the community and have served over 15,000 area residents.
BEAM also operates three thrift stores which helps bring in revenue so they are able to provide more assistance to Beaches residents.
