The Arc Jacksonville provides services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve their potential and participate in their community. Formed in 1965, The Arc Jacksonville offers a number of programs that serves more than 500 adults each day.
The Arc Jacksonville is the Jacksonville affiliate of The Arc organization, which has 700 chapters throughout the country. They describe themselves as being “on the front lines to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental differences and their families have the support and services they need to be fully engaged in their communities.”
The Arc Jacksonville also operates The Arc Village, a 32-acre private, planned community of affordable rental homes for adults with developmental disabilities. The Village provides the disabled adults independence, support, security, and social opportunities. The property on which the Village was built had been donated to the state with the condition that it be used to benefit people with disabilities.
